Welcome to our website The dotNoble Foundation wishes to provide a worldwide platform for nobles to become acquainted with each other. By means of this website the dotNoble Foundation also wishes to give persons, not only of noble rank, the opportunity to acquaint themselves with different cultures and customs. But first of all the dotNoble Foundation wants to promote the contact between the nobility by:
1. Issue of dotNoble domain addresses: Objective: To create your own family website with .noble top level domain such as: www.yoursurname.noble (like for the Fritzerbach family; www.fritzerbach.noble). and then create your own e-mail address in the following form: yourchristianname@yoursurname.noble (so, for John Fritzerbach; john@fritzerbach.noble). For what reason? The first step in getting to know one another is to exchange names and addresses. This ensures you know who is who and how to reach each other to exchange information and – possibly – to make further contact. A visiting card is frequently used for this purpose. The most important element of this calling or visiting card is no longer just the name (with your title) and telephone number but your .noble e-mail address. When you send an e-mail with your new .noble e-mail address the recipients will know the sender is a member of the international nobility. It is just like the old days when you could hand over a visiting or calling card. But today’s visiting card is only your e-mail address. To registration .noble; only for nobility: By applying for an individual dotNoble domain for your family or clan name, the members of your family (or clan) who bear the same name can create their own dotNoble e-mail address. A condition for acquiring this type of dotNoble domain is possession of a nobiliary title. Only those who can demonstrate being part of the nobility in their region or country of birth (based, for instance, on the old nobility charters or (inter)national nobility registers) will qualify for a dotNoble domain for their family or clan. To registration First TLD application: By registering on this website you can help the dotNoble Foundation to put forward a strong case for the acquisition of this Top Level Domain (TLD) during ICANN’s application round. The purpose of our joint effort is to obtain the .noble Top Level Domain (TLD) during the next application round from the ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers from California USA [www.icann.org] ) in Spring 2009. ICANN is not "selling" new top level domain names. There will be a limited application period where any established entity from anywhere in the world can submit an application that will go through an evaluation process. ICANN is working towards accepting the first applications in the second quarter of 2009. Back to top 2. Information on nobility: worldwide and by area (region or country): Uniformity in diversity: The objective of the dotNoble Foundation is to map the diversity in nobility charters and nobility registers. Opinions and institutions throughout the world differ greatly on what actually constitutes nobility and who belongs to the ranks of nobility. Therefore dotNoble Foundation aims uniformity on the internet (like in e-mail addresses) in the diversity of ways in which nobility is recognised. Regional verification: The Foundation is aware that there may be distinct regulations applicable per area (region or country) and is consequently striving to appoint regional or national coordinators for each area. These coordinators will first inform the dotNoble Foundation on the existence of nobiliary groups in their area. Their task will also be to verify whether the data of individual persons who apply for a dotNoble domain corresponds with that in the nobility charters and nobility registers available in those areas. Become a regional coordinator for dotNoble: These regional coordinators can also become involved in compiling the travel suggestions on our website. We therefore appeal to you to register as a voluntary regional coordinator on behalf of the dotNoble Foundation. Back to top 3. Travel suggestions: The history of the nobility has left a wealth of listed sites and places of interest in its wake. Many of these sites are public and can be visited. The dotNoble Foundation believes it is also part of its task to familiarise people with and stimulate visitors to travel to these places of nobiliary history. Hence opportunities to visit and possibly stay overnight in old, aristocratic monuments will be posted on our website. Click your destination on our map and see our suggestions: Back to top Accessibility to the website. Much of the information on this website is public and therefore accessible to everyone. However, certain sections can only be viewed by persons with a registered dotNoble domain. To view these sections visitors to the website will be requested to enter an access code (user name and password). Back to top ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
